GODSENT released their academy CS:GO team on Thursday, following the team's last-place finish at ESWC 2016, their first and only LAN event.
Though GODS' academy team were a direct invite to ESWC, they started out in the group stage by losing 16-6 to Gambit Esports on Overpass, then went down 2-0 in the Losers' Match against Norse and were eliminated.
GODS' academy team formed on July 14 with Linus "Limpone" Wecksell, who is the younger brother of Jesper "JW" Wecksell and is the AWPer for GODS' main team. The roster also included Gabriel "Shrew" Gessle, who is the son of legendary Swedish pop singer-songwriter Per Gessle. Here's a look at the full former roster:
- Linus "Limpone" Wecksell
- Gabriel "Shrew" Gessle
- Eric "Ericip" Torsson
- Andreas "mokeN" Karlsson
- Jakob "Barkeen" Bark
Since the team formed roughly five months ago, they have not been able to achieve any significant success and only won a single showmatch against eSuba during Gauntlet: Fight for the Crown #8. ESWC, which ran Oct. 27-30, was the squad's LAN debut, and would turn out to be the only offline event they attended.
