NRG eSports have reportedly signed Damian “daps” Steele, Omar “MarkE” Jimenez and acquired Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte from Selfless Gaming, according to a report from Slingshot Esports by Jarek "DeKay" Lewis. The team has also reportedly re-signed Peter “ptr” Gurney.
According to the report, NRG have released their European players, Fatih “gob b” Dayik, Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninic and Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz, turning their European roster into a North American one. The roster is completed by Jacob “FugLy” Medina who has stayed on from the previous roster.
NRG's CS:GO team has been in a state of flux as of late. The organization signed well-known Brazilian coach Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu as the coach and general manager of their CS:GO team on Nov. 18, with the intention of rebuilding their team. But less than a month later on Dec. 9, peacemaker stepped down from NRG citing differences in vision.
NRG most recently competed in the North American league for ECS Season 2, but finished in eighth place with a 5-13, which was far from qualifying for the LAN Final but enough to stave off relegation for the season.
Here's what NRG's reported roster looks like:
- Damian “daps” Steele
- Omar “MarkE” Jimenez
- Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte
- Peter “ptr” Gurney
- Jacob “FugLy” Medina
