Jakob "JUGi" Hansen has been benched by Tricked following the news that he has signed with Heroic for the 2018 season.
Tricked owner Morten "Phy" Jensen told HLTV that Tricked was contacted by Heroic with regards to transferring JUGi, and JUGi chose to leave. However, as his contract does not start until Jan. 1, 2018, Tricked has removed JUGi from their starting roster until his contract with them expires. Tricked lost Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen to Heroic in October 2016 as part of a transfer agreement.
When asked about the status of transfers between Heroic and Tricked, Phy told HLTV that Heroic has "sabotaged" his organization's success, and that he does not believe the process has been fair to Tricked.
RFRSH CEO Nikolaj Nyholm told HLTV that the organization signed JUGi for 2018 only after they found out that Tricked would not agree to a transfer for the 2017 season.
"I would like to stress that we in no way have been out to ”sabotage” any other team, as it is mentioned," Nyholm told HLTV. "This is not and will never be our purpose. On the contrary we strive always to talk to our colleagues in other organisations like North, NiP, Virtus Pro etc, in regards to developing the sports together."
Nyholm has since Tweeted that Heroic did not offer JUGi a contract before he was benched, which does not match Phy's version of the events.
Phy told HLTV that Tricked expects to find a replacement for JUGi in the next two weeks.
