Cloud9 owner Jack Etienne has announced that Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan and Kory “SEMPHIS” Friesen have been removed from their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster.

Khan has only been with the organization since December, but Friesen has been a member since August of last year. Etienne cited a lack of growth as the reason for the drastic roster change.

We would like it be known that the current state of underperformance is and has been unacceptable. Big and impactful changes will be made and all in an effort to build a team that has the consistency to do more than “just maintain” high levels of play, but obtain new heights and set standards accordingly.

As of now Cloud9 has not announced any replacements, nor have Khan or Friesen announced future plans.

Cloud9's CS:GO roster stands as follows:

  • Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert
  • Sean "sgares" Gares
  • Michael "shroud" Grzesiek
