Astralis will field Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel in place of Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz at the ESL Pro League Finals in Odense, Denmark, the team announced Thursday.

RUBINO comes to the team on loan from Team Dignitas and will also fill in for Astralis at the ECS Finals in Mexico.

dev1ce, the team's main AWPer, has been on medical leave since Nov. 17. Astralis have played with a series of different substitutes at recent tournaments since. They placed second at the BLAST Pro Series in Copenhagen with GODSENT's Dennis "dennis" Edman standing in.

"The competition is fierce and I have to say that playing with our 4th line-up in the last 4 tournaments does not exactly increase our possibilities to prepare optimally and to find a our [rhythm] on the team," coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen said in a statement.

"That being said, I’ve had the chance to work with RUBINO before. He is an extremely skilled player, and it will be a great experience to have him on board for the coming events."

dev1ce said on Twitter earlier this week that he was feeling better and hopes to play with the team at the Major in January.

Despite the strong performance with dennis, ESL today confirmed Astralis are not allowed to field him at ESL Finals.

"Dennis 'dennis' Edman competed for GODSENT in the regular season of Pro League," according to a statement released by ESL.

"His last match for the team was November 12th. We agreed to grant Astralis an emergency transfer that otherwise would be prohibited due to the Trade Deadline due to unforeseen circumstances, but they had to add a player who did not participate in the last matchday of Pro League and they decided to use 'RUBINO'."
