Ex-Excelerate players accuse CEO of coercion

Ex-players from Call of Duty pro team Excelerate have accused company CEO Justin Tan of withholding pay and attempting to sell their World League spot in an effort to sign players to unfavorable contracts.

After Excelerate announced that they had dropped their entire CoD roster save for Ethan "FA5TBALLA" Wedgeworth, one of the effected players, Michael "Beehzy" Said, released a YouTube video explaining the players' side of the story.

In the video, Beehzy accuses Tan of attempting to sell Excelerate's CWL spot to Wildcard Gaming while refusing to pay out the remaining time on the roster's contracts.

He continued by alleging that after the first week of Pro League matches, Tan asked the roster to sign new contracts which reportedly had Excelerate taking 100 per cent of the player’s Pro League salary, alongside 25 per cent of appearance fees instead of the original 15 per cent they agreed on.

Beehzy's allegations have been corroborated by a screenshot obtained by Dexerto, which allegedly depicts Tan saying to an Excelerate staff member "they don't really have a choice," when it comes to contract negotiations. Tan follows up by reportedly saying "if they want to play hardball I can just drop them and sign new players."

Additionally, Beehzy alleges that Excelerate tried to drop three players before Pro League even began, a fact that Tainted Minds CEO, Nick Bobir, seems to confirm in a Reddit post, stating that Tan had approached him and others with offers to sell Excelerate's league spot.

Dexertro is also reporting on a second, similar, situation involving Midnight Esports and ongoing contract and Pro League disputes with its roster.

G2 signs AmaNEK to CS:GO roster

G2 Esports announced the signing of François "AmaNEk" Delaunay to their CS:GO roster Thursday.

AmaNek left LDLC at the beginning of the year. He'll be replacing Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro.

Considered one of the best Smash 4 players in the world, Dabuz started 2019 with a top four finish at GENESIS 6 playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

cromen, RUBINO find a home on Nordavind

Norwegian CS:GO squad, Nordavind DNB, took to Facebook Thursday to announce the signing of ex-Team Dignitas players Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel, Jorgen "cromen" Robertsen and Jesper "tenzki" Plougmann.

cromen made a name for himself as substitute on FaZe Clan in the middle of 2018 while "Olof "olofmeister" Kajber took a leave of absence. The Norwegian helped FaZe win ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018.

The new signings mean that both Morten "zEVES" Vollan and Haris "H4RR3" Hadzic have been benched for the foreseeable future.
