Three members of LGD Forever Young and all five of Invictus Gaming Vitality have failed their U.S. visa interviews ahead of The Boston Major, according to a report by Gosu Gamers' Ben "PineappleCake" Tan.

The report, which partially translates Weibo posts by LGD.FY and iG.V, says LGD.FY players Du "Monet" Peng and Luo "lpc" Puchao, as well as LGD Gaming's Xiao "Jixing" Zihao, were all denied visas, though they will have a second round of interviews. Likewise, iG.V's Zhang "Paparazi" Chengjun, Xu "Sakata" Zichen, Yang "InJuly" Xiaodong, Su "super" Peng and Gao "dogf1ghts" Tianpeng were all denied visas, but have another interview scheduled for Nov. 18.

Both iG.V and LGD.FY qualified for The Boston Major through the Chinese regional qualifier, with LGD.FY finishing in first and iG.V placing second. Both teams were directly invited to the qualifier.

Valve has assisted international teams attending Majors with visa issues before, and the issue is fairly common when it comes to international Dota 2 events. However, they haven't always been successful. Both LGD's Xue "September" Zhichuan and Vici Gaming Reborn's Zhou "Yang" Haiyang failed to acquire visas in time for TI6, forcing their teams to use emergency substitutes.

At Boston, LGD.FY may be able to get by with substitutes, but iG.V will likely have to be replaced by another team from the qualifier if they are unable to field any of their members.
