Vega Squadron have picked up former Natus Vincere carry player Dmitry "Ditya Ra" Minenkov, the team announced on Saturday.

"I would like to greet Dmity in Vega Squadron and I hope that he will help us to reach a higher level," Vega Squadron CEO Alexey Kondakov said. "He prove himself during try out as a team player that we lacked with previous carry player."

Ditya Ra was a long-standing member of Na`Vi since December 2015 and showed some promising results with the team, such as second place at ESL One Frankfurt 2016 and winning SL i-League Season 2. But after a 9-16th place finish at The International 2016 and failing to qualify for The Boston Major 2016, Na`Vi rebuilt their roster without Ditya Ra.

Ditya Ra will replace Vega's former carry player Rostislav "fn" Lozovoi. After failing to qualify for The Boston 2016, fn departed Vega on Dec. 24 due to internal issues. First impressions of Ditya Ra from Vega Captain Semion "CeMaTheSlayeR" Krivulya have been positive.

"After the first days of training we felt that our play style became more stable compared to the previous roster," CeMaTheSlayeR said. "We felt that Dmitry is trying to do what team needs and works as a team player.

"From the very beginning we were satisfied with everything but we had more time to try him out before roster lock. If we had any problems we wouldn’t leave him in this roster, so we decided to keep Ditya Ra."

Vega are a Phase 2 invite to the SL i-League Season 3 Europe qualifier. On Jan. 18, they will face a currently-vacant Escape Gaming after the departure of Adrian "Era" Kryeziu, Max "qojqva" Bröcker and Troels "syndereN" Nielsen.

Here's what Vega Squadron's latest roster looks like:

  • Dmitry "Ditya Ra" Minenkov
  • Sergey Alexandrovich "G" Bragin
  • Andrey "Mag~" Chipenko
  • Semion "CemaTheSlayer" Krivulya
  • Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev
