OG, among 6 teams invited to The International 7

The International 7's direct invites are in, and OG,, Newbee, Team Liquid, Invictus Gaming and Evil Geniuses will all head to Seattle to take part in one of the biggest esport events of the calendar year.

OG are the reigning Major champions, having won both the Boston and Kiev Majors in the 2016-2017 season, while are fresh off a victory at DOTA Summit 7 and were the runners-up at the Kiev Major.

EG has most recently won The Manila Masters in May, with Team Liquid winning EPICENTER in June to claim the largest prize pool outside of a Valve event this year.

As for the two Chinese teams, iG placed 3rd/4th at the Kiev Major while Newbee recently won both ZOTAC Cup Masters and Galaxy Battles in addition to placing second at The Manila Masters.

An additional 12 teams will qualify for TI7 through the regional qualifiers: China and Southeast Asia will have three qualifier spots each, North America and Europe West will have two qualifier spots each, while CIS and South America have one spot each.

The 18 teams will then compete in two round robin groups at TI7, with the last place team from each group being eliminated. From there, teams will advance to the main event at KeyArena in Seattle, where they will enter a double elimination bracket in the hopes of being crowned this year's TI champion.

The open qualifiers will run from June 22-25, while the regional qualifiers will run through June 26-29.
