Evil Geniuses have dropped long-time player Saahil "UNiVeRsE" Arora, and signed Rasmus "MiSeRy" Filipsen in his place. Additionally, EG have let go of their coach Avery "SVG" Silverman and are replacing him with Sam “BuLba” Sosale, who last played for Digital Chaos.

MiSeRy will be taking over captain duties from Clinton "Fear" Loomis and sharing the support role with Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen. As a result, Fear will move to the mid lane while Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan will move to offlane.

"This is a hard day. Universe has been a cornerstone of our Dota 2 roster for many years, and the decision to reconfigure the roster without him as a part of it was not one taken lightly," EG COO Phillip Amram said in a press release. "Words cannot thank him for what he has brought to this team and our fans. We wish him the best."

UNiVeRsE has played for EG at various intervals since 2012, and most recently re-signed to their roster in 2016. He has played at every International but the first, and won TI5 with EG.

“I am honored to have gotten the offer to join EG as Captain. I am very excited about this team and I can’t wait to get started," MiSeRy said in the press release.
