A TwitLonger post from former Team Secret manager and current OG manager Evany claims that she and a number of ex-Team Secret players have yet to receive winnings from tournaments they won in 2014.
According to Evany's post, the affected players include Tal "Fly" Aizik, Johan "BigDaddyN0tail" Sundstein, Artour "Arteezy" Babaev, Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg and Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi.
Evany, whose full name is not used on social media, alleges that tournament winnings were not paid out from five tournaments that Team Secret played in 2014, including ESL One NY 2014, Dota Pit League Season 2, The Summit 2, StarLadder Star Series Season 10, and XMG Captain's Draft 2.0. Based on data from Liquipedia, Team Secret's winnings from the period in question exceed $240,000.
theScore eSports has not yet been able to independently verify these claims.
Evany was replaced as manager in December 2014 by Matthew "CyborgMatt" Bailey, and all five players mentioned left the roster between December 2014 and August 2015. She claims she attempted for more than a year to have the tournament winnings transferred to her and the other team members, but that CyborgMatt delayed payments, citing difficulties creating an account, and later became evasive.
In her post, Evany provides a timeline starting on August 2014, when Team Secret first formed and she acted as the team's manager. She claims that as of Feb. 16 2016, tournament winnings had still not been paid to any of the five players, and that she was forced to go public with the situation in order to pressure Team Secret into transferring the money.
When reached by theScore eSports, Evany expressed frustration with the situation.
"Matt is a good guy; he helped the team out a lot during Secret 1.0 and I am still grateful," she said. "Unfortunately, he was the only point of contact for anyone dealing with Secret this past year and was eventually somewhat unavailable, which frustrated everyone involved in the prize payment process."
Over the course of 2014, Team Secret placed first in both Captain's Draft 2.0 and Dota Pit League Season 2, earning $96,860 and $36,269 respectively. They also took second place in StarLadder Star Series Season 10, third place in The Summit 2, and third-fourth in ESL One New York 2014.
The circumstances around Evany's departure from Team Secret haven't been publicly reported. She and ex-Secret players Fly and BigDaddyN0tail went on to form (monkey) Business, which was then sponsored by Hitbox and rebranded into OG. OG went on to win the Frankfurt Major in October 2015.
BigDaddyN0tail took to Twitter Wednesday and alluded to the recent allegations and how they have affected his life.
theScore eSports has reached out to CyborgMatt for comment and will update this story as details arise.
