compLexity Gaming have eliminated Evil Geniuses from EPICENTER: Moscow in a dominant 2-0 victory over their American rivals.
coL took Game 1 in just under 30 minutes, winning nearly every engagement in the early game as EG failed to secure a lead in the laning phase. Zakari "Zfreek" Freedman's Mirana proved to be pivotal to coL's victory, creating pick offs with Sacred Arrow that enabled coL to snowball to victory.
By contrast, Game 2 was much closer, with EG securing Roshan twice and pushing back coL whenever they tried to advance on the high ground. Fortunately for coL, Rasmus "Chessie" Blomdin's Juggernaut could burst down EG in later teamfights, while Zfreek's Dazzle kept his team alive through excellent use of Shallow Grave. When EG tried to push out of their base, coL crushed them handily, with EG calling GG soon after at the 34 minute mark.
This is the first time that coL has won a series against EG since November 2014, having recently been eliminated from The Shanghai Major and MarsTV Dota 2 League Winter 2015 by EG. This is also the first time that EG has finished outside of the Top 3 at a tournament they competed in since their loss to Vega Squadron at ESL One New York 2015.
coL will next play Newbee in the third round of the Loser's Bracket to see who will continue their run at EPICENTER.
