William "Amnesiac" Barton, Julien "Cydonia" Perrault and Zhao "Hamster" Songyang are just some of the eight pros that have advanced to the Hearthstone World Championship quarterfinals.

Group A saw a big upset between Cydonia and Il-mook "Handsomeguy" Kang when Cydonia swept Handsomeguy 4-0 in their first match of the group stage. Handsomeguy, who recently won the HCT Asia-Pacific Summer Championship earlier this month, was throttled again by Cydonia when the two battled it out to be the second seed from Group A. Cydonia walked away with a 4-1 victory over Handsomeguy and strolled right into the quarterfinals.

Another shock came from Group D's final match between Pavel "Pavel" Beltukov and Zheng "OmegaZero" Lin. Despite OmegaZero's initial 3-0 lead on Pavel, the Russian pro made a wild comeback and took the next four games and won the match 4-3. One of the top players from China, OmegaZero as seen by many as a potential favorite to take the entire tournament.

Here are the matchups for the quarterfinals in the Top 8.

  • "JasonZhou" vs. Hamster
  • Amnesiac vs. Pavel
  • Kim "Che0nsu" Cheonsu vs. Cydonia
  • Edwin "HotMEOWTH" Cook vs. Artem "DrHippi" Kravets
The Hearthstone World Championship quarterfinals kick off at BlizzCon on Nov. 4, and the tournament will conclude on the 5.
