Astral Authority defeated Denial eSports 4-1 in their best-of-seven Grand Finals series at the North American Nexus Games Sunday. More than just the $5,000 grand prize, the win further solidifies Astral — formerly Murloc Geniuses — as the undisputed powerhouse of the North American region.

Astral received a one-game advantage for entering the Grand Finals from the winners' side of the bracket, and after dropping Game 1 on Cursed Hollow, they put up three straight wins on Warhead Junction, Sky Temple and Garden of Terror to take the series and tournament.

The two teams met earlier in the Winner's Finals, a series that Astral swept 3-0. That brings their total head-to-head record for the playoff bracket to 6-1, further reinforcing Astral's status as the region's top dog.

Both Astral and Denial qualified earlier this season to represent NA at the Fall Global Championship at BlizzCon. As the region's second seed, Denial will have to fight through the first group stage at BlizzCon Opening Week on Oct. 26-28, potentially facing elimination. They find themselves in Group A of the preliminary stage, where their first match will be against Australia/New Zealand contender Reborn.

As for Astral, they are in Group A of BlizzCon's second group stage, along with EU first-seed Team Dignitas. They will first play one of the teams that moves on from the preliminary group stage.
