Grandmaster Jackets and No Tomorrow have earned a spot in the 2017 Heroes Global Championship Pro League after winning the second North American qualifier.
The qualifier began Saturday, and wrapped up on Sunday. The two teams join Astral Authority, Denial eSports, Gale Force eSports and Team Naventic, who have already qualified.
Grandmaster Jackets notably defeated Miasma eSports Black, Gust or Bust and Vox Nihili to earn their spot. The roster is composed of a number of competitive veterans including Jerome "KilluZiioN" Tanguay, Zach "Insomnia" Hacker and Merek "Zugrug" Kangas. While their players have seen Top 8 success at times — KilluZiioN with Gust or Bust and Astral Authority, Zugrug with Team Nom — defeating Vox Nihili and earning a Pro League spot is a huge win for this roster.
No Tomorrow emerged victorious against Imported Support, NICE! and Dumpster Tier Superstars en route to their Pro League qualification. The team has meant a return to competition for former Tempo Storm and Team Naventic warrior Aaron "Erho" Kappes as he joins fellow veteran Ed "TigerJK" Hong and newcomer Skylar "Casanova" Mulder.
The final NA qualifier is set to run on Dec. 10, and while there are only two spots left, there are plenty of contenders. Vox Nihili and Dumpster Tier Superstars may be considered the favorites, but Imported Support, Gust or Bust, NICE! and even Miasma eSports Black could surprise.
