In a major upset, Flash Wolves took down the last undefeated team at the World Championship, SK Telecom T1. This was their first victory of the tournament after tight early games against I MAY and Cloud9 that resulted in losses when Flash Wolves couldn't close.
Flash Wolves' victory came as a result of Hung "Karsa" Hauhsuan's aggressive Lee Sin play in conjunction with Huang "Maple" Yitang's Aurelion Sol. SK Telecom T1 had difficulty getting back into the game, despite strong side wave control.
With Flash Wolves' victory, they remain in the running to escape the group with a record of 1-2. Their reputation for defeating Korean teams at international events has earned them the nickname "Korean team killers."
