Dark Passage and Vega Squadron have qualified for IEM Gyeonggi after placing first and second at the IEM Challenger Gyeonggi Qualifier on Monday.

Dark Passage went undefeated to secure the first qualification spot, defeating Rampage and Saigon Jokers 2-0. This will be the Turkish team's first appearance at an IEM event.

Vega's journey nearly ended before it began, after they were sent to the Loser's Bracket by the Jokers in the opening round of matches. Fortunately, the team came back to defeat Rampage in a close 2-1 series before overcoming Saigon in the the Loser's Finals.

The two International Wild Card teams will join Counter Logic Gaming, G2 Esports, J Team, ROX Tigers and Royal Never Give Up at IEM Gyeonggi on Dec. 16-18. Only one spot remains at the event, which will be filled by the winner of the 2016 LoL KeSPA Cup, which runs Nov. 9-19 in South Korea.

Two days earlier, INTZ e-Sports and Chiefs qualified for IEM Oakland, where they will join Team SoloMid, Immortals, Splyce, I May and Flash Wolves. IEM Oakland will run from Nov. 19-20.

IEM Gyeonggi is the first IEM event to be held in South Korea since IEM Seoul in 2008. The tournament's prize pool has yet to be announced, but the winner of the event will secure a spot at the IEM Season 11 World Championship in Katowice, Poland.
