Former Hong Kong Esports support Kim "Olleh" Joo-sung is set to sign with Immortals, according to a report by ESPN's Jacob Wolf.
Citing sources close to the player and organization, Wolf reports that Olleh is joining Immortals after an extensive tryout period that saw IMT audition former ROX Tigers support Kang "GorillA" Beom-hyeon, former CJ Entus support Kim "Pure" Jin-sun and former H2k-Gaming support Oskar "VandeR" Bogdan, among others.
Olleh has played for Hong Kong Esports in the LMS since January 2015, and helped the team take fourth place in the 2016 LMS Summer Playoffs. Prior to that, he played for paiN Gaming in CBLoL and the KT Rolster Arrows in Korea.
Olleh was recently the center of a series of controversial roster moves on HKE, following allegations from HKE's jungler Shiue "DinTer" Hung-Wei that Olleh attempted to have him removed from the roster. Speaking on-stream in September, DinTer claimed that Olleh threatened to leave the team along with AD carry Jeong "Raison" Soo-bin ahead of the 2016 LMS Regional Finals unless DinTer was benched. HKE started Lai "Wind" Chap Yin in the jungle during the regional finals.
According to DinTer, Olleh had already been made aware that he was being taken off the team, and used his relationship with Raison to stay on the starting roster. When Olleh and Raison did leave HKE in September, the organization stated that Raison chose not to renew his contract, while Olleh's contract was terminated.
Though Immortals have re-signed Eugene "Pobelter" Park as their mid laner for the 2017 season, the rest of their roster is brand new. They'll be fielding former Longzhu Gaming top laner Lee "Flame" Ho-jong, former Team Liquid jungler Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett and former Dream Team AD carry Cody Sun.
