Skins of the Week is a recurring series that highlights the best skins and skin concepts for heroes, champions and characters across a variety of games.
This week, with the addition of new skins for Orianna and Kha'Zix, we're highlighting planet devouring, cosmically powered concepts based on the Dark Star skin line. Some are monstrous, others remain remarkably human in appearance, but all are awe-inspiring in execution.
Dark Star Cho'Gath
This concept is great, primarily because it is absolutely nightmarish in appearance and execution. Much like Dark Star Thresh, Dark Star Cho'Gath uses space and the size of the planets to great effect, creating a recognizable silhouette of everyone's favorite terror while developing him into an even more monstrous being. The best detail is the absence of eyes, a significant departure from the eyes that appear to pop on Cho'Gath's regular appearance.
Dark Star Syndra
Not all champions need to be planet devouring monstrosities that care little for the lives of those smaller than them. Sometimes, they can be powerful beings made of stars who only seek to gain power at the expense of everything else, like Dark Star Syndra here.
Dark Star Viktor
the-glorious-evolution's concept of Viktor as an omnipotent being who works with galaxies is a powerful image. Just look at the cape, which swirls with color and contains many stars within it, which would be an awesome animation if the champion were to ever gain a Dark Star skin. Viktor also has another skin called Creator Viktor, and what greater creator is there than one that can shape the stars themselves?
Dark Star Lissandra
Slown Damn's Dark Star Lissandra does so much more than simply turn Lissandra into a cosmic being. There are concepts for every one of Lissandra's abilities and attacks, including her recall animation, auto attacks and her absolutely awesome ultimate. Do yourself a favor and check out Slown Damn's gallery for a complete look at this inspired concept.
