Week 5 of the Summer Split has arrived, and it's time for narratives to be strengthened, or to crumble. In the West, the powerhouses have new challengers; in Korea the big names will do battle.

KT Rolster vs. SK Telecom T1

  • When: Tuesday, June 27, 7 a.m. ET
  • Why: Two teams enter at a 7-1 record, one leaves at 7-2

KT Rolster lost their Week 1 match to Longzhu Gaming but has otherwise maintained a perfect record. SKT's only match loss, also in Week 1, was to Samsung Galaxy. But all is now right in the world, with Korea's finest once more filling up the upper echelons of the standings.

That means it's time to find out which team will take the W, and which will fall to 7-2. Samsung also sits at 7-1 coming into this week, but they will also play Longzhu (likely also a matchup to watch).

Fnatic vs. Splyce

  • Where: EULCS1
  • When: Thursday, June 29, 2 p.m. ET
  • Why: Two unlikely heroes clash

While Fnatic ended the spring split on a strong note, they struggled to reach that result. Splyce, on the other hand, vastly under-performed their expectations and ended up removing coach Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi.

So while expectations coming into this season may have been tempered by previous performance, both have defied those precedents, with Fnatic sitting at 5-1 and Splyce at 4-1. Add in a mid lane matchup that is likely to have some explosive moments, and the match is one that you'll want to tune in for.

TSM vs. Immortals

  • Where: NALCS1
  • When: Saturday, July 1, 3 p.m. ET
  • Why: Immortals must confront Darth Vader... err, TSM again

These two teams have already met once, and Immortals walked away with the victory. TSM, who looked shaky in Weeks 1 and 2, have since bounced back to a 6-2 record.

This is the Return of the Jedi chapter of this matchup. Surviving TSM in Week 1 was a victory. But now they must confront TSM again and become Jedi Knights like previous 2016 incarnations of this team before them. As for TSM, it's time for the NA Empire to Strike Back.

CLG vs. Cloud9

  • Where: NALCS2
  • When: Saturday, July 1, 3 p.m. ET
  • Why: Cloud9 needs this

Counter Logic Gaming's run through the NA LCS continues as their 6-2 record will be tested by a 5-3 Cloud9 roster. C9 has fallen once already to CLG and will look to avenge that here.

To say that a win would be big for C9 is not an understatement. Clearly second-place material in the spring split, the upper echelons of the NA LCS seem a lot more crowded in summer, and C9 will also play TSM to start off this week. Next week, one of their two games is against Immortals.
