Lee "Spirit" Da-yoon is joining Fnatic, the player told FOMOS in an interview published Tuesday.

“I prioritized salary the last time I transferred. But now, even more than money, I want to raise my individual value as a player so I wanted to move to a great team with great players. I also wanted to learn English," he said. “I don’t have any fears about starting anew, wherever that may be. I will write a new history on Fnatic."

Spirit also said that he spent some of his time off in China duoing with Yeong "Gamsu" Jin Noh.

“I've known him for a long time and we have played together a lot and he matches up with me the best,” he said.

Spirit comes to Fnatic from Team WE, which finished in 11th place in the 2015 LPL Summer Split. Spirit pulled down a 3.13 average KDA in the spring split, mostly playing Jarvan IV in the jungle.

He'll be joining a Fnatic that looks very different from the undefeatable champions of the 2015 EU Summer Split. With the departure of Bora "YellOwStaR" Kim for Team Solo Mid and Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon and Kum "Reignover" Ui-jin for Team Immortals, Fnatic is down to just Fabian "Febiven" Diepstraten and Martin "Rekkles" Larsson returning from their 18-0 summer lineup.

The previous Fnatic lineup also qualified for Worlds, where they made it to the semifinals before being knocked out by the KOO Tigers.

Fnatic's current roster is as follows:

  • Lee "Spirit" Da-Yoon
  • Fabian "Febiven" Diepstraten
  • Martin "Rekkles" Larsson
