Lee "KaKAO" Byungkwon will contract with new League of Legends Secondary Pro League team, Wan Yoo, according to a report by FOMOS' Kenzi.
According to Kenzi, the information came from Chinese officials who confirmed KaKAO's acquisition. Wan Yoo recently qualified to the League of Legends Secondary Pro League via the Tencent Games Arena 2015 Winter tournament, where they placed third, losing to MF Gaming.
Wan Yoo recently renamed from POP187 Club, a club famous for playing in the group stage of the 2015 National Electronic Sports Open against Invictus Gaming while KaKAO played for the latter team. In the group stage, POP187 Club defeated Invictus Gaming in a best-of-one series. As a result, they advanced to the quarterfinal over iG, where they lost to Royal Never Give Up, the eventual tournament winners.
NESO took place the week following the 2015 World Championship where KaKAO and Invictus Gaming failed to advance from group stage, winning only two of their six games. In an interview following the tournament, KaKAO said he would focus more on learning Mandarin Chinese this year.
According to Kenzi, KaKAO will likely be unable to start for Wan Yoo in the LSPL immediately and must complete his registration for the new team.
