Team SoloMid, SK Telecom T1, Fnatic and Royal Never Give Up have been confirmed as the LoL teams invited to IEM Katowice, taking place Mar. 4-6.

All four invites have found varying levels of success in the past few months, though most of their rosters have changed dramatically since 2015. TSM, the reigning champions at Katowice, attended the World Championships in October, though they struggled at the event. Fnatic won both EU LCS titles last year, and finished top four at Worlds, while RNG took first place in the 2015, National Electronic Sports Open in China.

Most notable though are SKT T1, who were proven as the top team of 2015, winning the League of Legends World Championship and becoming the first team in history to win the year-end competition twice.

The four invites will join previous IEM finalists in Origen, Counter Logic Gaming, Ever and QG Reapers, who all claimed top two finishes at either IEM Cologne or IEM San Jose.

The eight teams will meet in two best-of-one, double elimination groups, which will see the top two advance into best-of-three semifinal matches. The $100,000 event will conclude with the final two teams facing off in a best-of-five Grand Final.
