With Team Dignitas relegated to the North American Challenger Series for the first time in their storied history, support Alan "KiWiKiD" Nguyen's future is uncertain.
In an interview with The Daily Dot's Saira Mueller and William Copus, KiWiKiD said that while he hadn't reached a final decision, he was considering returning to school.
"I’m not sure what I want to do yet. Honestly, what I’m leaning towards is probably going back to school, but yeah nothing is really set in stone," he told the Daily Dot.
"I’m just undecided about everything pretty much. I mean I don’t even really know what my options are. I’ll figure s**t out."
KiWiKiD also said that he believed his move from top lane to support was the right one, and that Dignitas' fatal flaw was their inability to teamfight. The current meta, he said, emphasizes this crucial skill — and Dignitas was found lacking.
"At least 90 percent of the game is all about team fighting and we didn’t really. We weren’t cohesive," he told the Daily Dot.
And while the procession of coaches that came through the Dignitas organization likely didn't help things, KiWiKiD didn't say that it was the main issue.
"I think we just had overall problems across the board. There’s really not much more to say, we were just bad," he told the Daily Dot.
Team Dignitas were relegated as a result of a 3-0 loss in the Summer Promotion Series to Team Dragon Knight on April 6. Of the three original NA LCS invitee teams, Dignitas is the first to be relegated.
