FC Schalke 04, a German soccer team, has reportedly purchased Elements' spot in the 2016 EU LCS Summer Split, according to a report by Esports Observer's Thiemo Bräutigam

FC Shalke 04 is the second largest sports club in Germany, the sixth largest in the world and seven-time German champions. The team was also ranked as the 14th most valuable soccer club in the world by Forbes magazine in 2015.

Elements formed in January 2015, after being forced to rebrand from Alliance due to sponsorship rules. The organization placed seventh in three straight splits, barely avoiding relegation each time, but never making playoffs. The team's roster has featured top players like Henrik "Froggen" Hansen, who left for Echo Fox, and Ilyas "Shook" Hartsema who left for the Copenhagen Wolves and now plays for Team Vitality.

Their most recent roster was made up of former Team ROCCAT players Rasmus "MrRalleZ" Skinneholm and Etienne "Steve" Michels, ex-Unicorns of Love junger Berk "Gilius" Demir, Jeremy "Eika" Valdenaire and Hampus "sprattel" Abrahamsson. All those players' contracts with Elements were set to expire in October.

Correction: A previous version of this article stated FC Schalke 04 won the Bundesliga seven times, in fact they are the seven-time German Champions.
