NRG eSports have signed AD Carry Oh "Ohq" Gyu-min, the organization announced Friday.
NRG have been without an AD Carry since the organization made major roster moves that saw them drop Johnny “Altec” Ru, Kevin “KonKwon” Kwon and Galen “Moon” Holgate and sign Diego “Quas” Ruiz, Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen and Alan “KiWiKiD” Nguyen. Only Lee “GBM” Chang-seok remains from NRG’s spring split roster.
"Very excited to work with Ohq and the new NRG lineup," head coach Tadayoshi "Hermit" Littleton told theScore esports. "It's been a long offseason but I think this roster has all the tools to be a successful squad."
The 2016 NA LCS Spring Split was an unremarkable one for NRG, finishing with a dead even 9-9 record at the end of the split and finished the playoffs in 5th-6th, after losing to Team Liquid in the quarterfinals.
Ohq comes from the recently banned Challenger Series squad Team Dragon Knights, who were banned from participating in any Riot-sanctioned league after the release of a Riot competitive ruling on May 8. During his time on that team, they had a similarly middling record, finishing the split 5-5.
During the playoffs however, TDK came in second place after a 3-1 loss to Apex Gaming. The same squad kept them from qualifying for the NA LCS with a more crushing 3-0 victory in the summer promotion tournament. Ohq’s KDA during the regular season was 6, but it fell to 4.2 in the playoffs.
In the 2015 LCK Summer Season Ohq played on Najin e-mFire, where he held a 5.6 KDA.
