Following their purchase of Infernum Gaming's CS:GO roster back in April, Nuovo Gaming have bought up Infernum's Oceanic Challenger Series spot as well as three former Oceanic Pro League players to form a new team.

Infernum's top laner Jack "Jakattack" Gifford and ADC Nicholas "Stealthix" Tian will both join Nuovo, along with mid-laner Daniel "Cheese" Brown, who was previously a sub on Chiefs eSports Club.

In a statement about why the org decided to buy into the OCS, Nuovo's Head of Oceanic Operations and Interim League of Legends Manager Zoe "Zoseph" Paynter said they had a lot of faith in Infernum's roster.

"I'm excited to work with a group of such experienced and knowledgeable players and I am incredibly confident that they can make it into the OPL by the end of this split."

But Nuovo's CEO Alex "GLogics" Gonzalez says their search isn't over just yet. He told theScore esports that they have a few people in mind for the remaining two positions, but are open to new talent.

"We are in talks with a couple of players but we are no doubt still searching for talent and considering options before the roster lock," he said.

Nuovo formed last month with the aim of furthering the Oceanic esports scene, and quickly signed Infernum's CS:GO roster as well as notable StarCraft 2 pro Ethan "iaguz" Zugai and Hearthstone player Tom "Tomflr" Finlayson.
