TORNADO ROX have signed the roster known as Prets, an Overwatch team composed of players primarily from Russia and Belarus.
In the team's announcement, DPS Andrey "Engh" Sholokhov said that the roster's excitement at their signing has encouraged them to work even harder.
"We are very excited to work with TORNADO ROX. Our motivation to practice even harder raised significantly with this move," he wrote. "I hope that we will justify their trust and will show the maximum of our capabilities, achieving the better results."
The roster has qualified for the Europe Regional Overwatch Open as a result of their ranking points, putting them sixth among teams that did not qualify directly for the event through one of the four qualifiers.
TORNADO ROX finds themselves in Group B for that event, and will play their first match against FaZe Clan later today.
Acting esports director for TORNADO ROX Aleksey "KoZRoG" Kunshin called the team in his announcement "one of the strongest teams in the Russian-speaking region." Currently, the other notable team from Eastern Europe is ANOX, who secured their spot in the playoffs of the Overwatch Open EU Regional yesterday with a 2-0 record in Group A.
