Carbon Masters, a new monthly tournament series with a $7,500 prize pool, will feature some of competitive Overwatch's top talent as FaZe Clan, Immortals, compLexity, Tempo Storm, Method, and Kingdom Esports have been invited to the offline October playoffs on Oct. 23.

An open qualifier will be held on Oct. 16 to find four teams to go toe-to-toe with the invitees. According to Battlefy, teams ranging from The 1 Percent to Cloud9 have registered. However, Cloud9 will be playing without Greg "Grego" McAllen who left the team on Thursday, following the loss of Derrick "reaver" Nowicki and Kevin "deBett" deBettencourt.

FaZe Clan could very well be the team to beat after their strong performance at the Overwatch Open, where they made it to the European semifinals before losing in a 3-2 reverse sweep to Rogue. Method and Immortals were both knocked out in the tournament's NA Group Stage. Carbon Masters will also provide Overwatch fans with the chance to see how Kingdom Esport's new Overwatch's roster compares to some of the burgeoning esports' more established teams.
