Panda Global have signed the former Northern Gaming Black World of Warcraft Arena roster and will be sponsoring them at BlizzCon, the organization announced Thursday.
"Panda Global is excited to bring World of Warcraft into the fold," Panda Global CEO Alan Bunney MD said in a statement to theScore esports. "Even with its long history, competitive Arena mode is still a vibrant and growing scene with a passionate fanbase. This team headed by Rubcub has not only been successful at the highest levels but is filled with talented and driven players. We can't wait to see what they can do at BlizzCon this year!"
The roster took second place at the WoW Arena NA Championship earlier this month, qualifying them for the World Championship at BlizzCon. According to PG, the players had a falling out with the organization and signed with a new team ahead of BlizzCon.
The roster is made up of Andrew "Rubcub" Woods, Ethan "CMG" Gibeaut, Kyle "Jax" Keller, Marcel "Wealthyman" Rodriguez.
"After a long journey to Blizzcon with an organization that we no longer wish to represent, we are happy to be joining Panda Global - an organization that we see eye-to-eye with, and has shown nothing but professionalism and understanding in the short time that we've been in contact with them," Rubcub said in a statement to theScore esports. "We have high hopes for Blizzcon and are extremely happy to be representing Panda Global."
Panda Global's first match of the 2016 WoW Arena World Championship will be against Longzhu Gaming on Oct. 28.
