The 2016 International Wildcard All-Star event will take place in Barcelona, Spain, one week before the main League of Legends All-Star tournament, Riot Games has announced.

In a press release, Riot said that this year's IWC All-Star would see players from Brazil, the CIS, Japan, Latin America, Oceania, Southeast Asia and Turkey form eight regional all-star teams. The most successful team at the tournament will receive a spot in the 2016 All-Star Barcelona event, featuring teams made up of players from the four major regions.

The ICWA will run from Dec. 1-4, though there will be no live spectators invited. Riot said that because the tournament was not being held in an IWC region, they felt they "wouldn’t be able to offer the same type of viewing experience to fans inside the venue that they’ve come to expect with other IWCA events."

The All-Star Barcelona main event will run from Dec. 8-11 at the
Palau Sant Jordi.
