Immortals are declining their invitation to IEM Oakland, according to a Tweet the team put out on Monday.

"November is a busy month for League of Legends as contracts end and rosters reshuffle, we found it important to prioritize our long-term goals over our short-term desires," Immortals CEO Noah Whinston said in the video.

"That's why we're declining our invitation to IEM Oakland, because we find it more important to focus on building out our roster for next year."

Immortals qualified for IEM Oakland when they placed third at the NA LCS Summer Playoffs in August.

The news follows similar declined invitations from Team SoloMid and Splyce. TSM withdrew from IEM Oakland when their AD carry, Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng, announced that he was going on competitive hiatus for the upcoming 2017 Spring Split. Splyce decided against Oakland for reasons similar to Immortals, citing not having enough time to practice and “satisfy the standard” the team has for themselves.

It is unknown at this time who will be replacing Immortals at IEM Oakland.
