SK Telecom T1 have signed Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon as their starting top laner. The former Immortals top laner will be filling the starting spot that was held by Lee "Duke" Ho-seong during the 2016 season.
After making the semifinals at the 2015 League of Legends World Championships with Fnatic, the fan favorite player took his talents to North America and was part of Immortals' inaugural roster. As a member of Immortals, Huni posted a 2.96 KDA in the 2016 NA LCS Summer Split, averaging 3.9 kills, 3.4 deaths and 6.2 assists. He did not compete on the international stage with Immortals.
The move, which was first reported by ESPN's Jacob Wolf, comes a day after the team announced the signing of former ROX Tigers jungler Han "Peanut" Wang-ho.
In addition to Huni, SKT T1 have also acquired Kim "Profit" Jun-hyung as their substitute top laner. Though Profit hails from South Korea, his professional LoL career started in November 2014 as part of the LSPL team Invictus Gaming Young Glory. But after failing to advance into the LPL for two seasons, the team disbanded in April 2015.
Though Profit's signing was only announced today, he's already played five games with SKT at KeSPA Cup 2016 when they defeated both Chungnam and MVP 2-0 and lost a single game against ROX Tigers.
