Former World Champion Chae "Piglet" Gwang-jin is returning to Team Liquid's starting roster, ESPN's Jacob Wolf reports.

Citing sources close to the organization, ESPN says the team's roster for the 2017 NA LCS Spring Split will be anchored by Piglet. Liquid also reportedly plan to replace Kim "FeniX" Jae-hun with former Team 8 mid laner and current Team Liquid Academy player Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer. Sam "Lourlo" Jackson and Matt "Matt" Elento will remain on the starting roster.

The report of the team's full roster follows news leaked last month that Kim "Reignover" Yeu-jin will be starting as Liquid's jungler in the 2017 season. Starting both Reignover and Piglet forces Liquid to bench FeniX, since they can only field two imported players.

Piglet was a member of Team Liquid's LCS roster for four splits, but was moved to their Academy team for the NA CS 2016 Summer Playoffs. Piglet played nine LCS games that split, racking up a 2.3 KDA, before being shifted to TLA for their playoffs run and replaced on the primary roster by Jovani "fabbbyyy" Guillen. TLA placed second in the NA CS playoffs after a 3-2 loss to Cloud9 Challenger, then failed to qualify for the LCS after losing 3-2 to Echo Fox in the Promotion Tournament.

FeniX has played with Team Liquid since January 2015, when he left the Jin Air Green Wings and traveled to North America. Known for his skill on Azir, Fenix was often the star of some of Liquid's flashiest plays, though that rarely translated into success over the course of the season. In FeniX’s time with Liquid, the team have never won an NA LCS playoff or attended Worlds.

FeniX put up a 4.1 KDA during the 2016 summer regular season, fifth among mid laners who played more than 40 games that split. Liquid placed fifth that season, and went on to place 5th-6th in the playoffs after losing to 3-1 to Counter Logic Gaming in the quarterfinals.

Goldenglue played for LCS squad Team 8 in 2015 before joining Team Ember for their spring 2016 Challenger Series run. He also stood in for Henrik "Froggen" Hansen on Echo Fox for five games in the NA LCS Spring Split while the Danish mid laner struggled with visa issues.

While with TLA in the 2016 NA CS Summer Split, Goldenglue put up a 7.21 KDA across ten games and six champions.
