mousesports have acquired the contract of Finnish player Miikka "suNny" Kemppi from his previous team PENTA Sports, mouz announced on Friday.
"We had an eye on suNny for a while now and he proved his caliber with some amazing performances at the Major," mouz CGO Stefan Wendt said in the team's press release. "From our very first talk with Miikka I was impressed with his hunger for success and his passion for the game. I feel this is something our team has been missing.
"I am confident he will take the next step here at mousesports and prove to be a great addition to the team."
The news closely follows the release of Spanish rifler Christian "loWel" Antoran on Aug. 2, who suNny will be replacing.
The roster move comes after disappointing results at the most recent Major in Kraków as mouz finished in the bottom eight of the tournament, along with PENTA.
At the Major, loWel had an HLTV player rating of 0.98 averaged over four maps, meanwhile SuNny averaged a player rating of 1.21 over four maps, the fifth highest player rating of the event.
"I want to play for trophies with this team and I will do whatever I can to accomplish that," suNny said in the team's press release. "We are looking for consistent success, that is the most important goal now. We can only do it with hard work and time but with the group of players here at mousesports and organization backing us, I am really confident that this team can go far together."
