"Weston "Westballz" Dennis and Jeffery "Axe" Williamson" have signed with Tempo Storm, the team announced Friday.

The two players are Tempo Storm's first Smash players. Recently, Westballz came in fourth at CEO 2015, and second at MVG Sandstorm. Axe's record is equally impressive, and boasts a third place finish at Sandstorm, where he knocked EVO 2014 champion Mango into loser's bracket, and a first place finish at Aftershock 2015.

"Tempo Storm is a team filled with exceptional players, unique personalities, and talent across the board," Westballz wrote in the announcement. "That sounds like home. My goal isn’t just to be one of the best, my goal is to put Tempo Storm at the top of competitive Melee. I couldn't be more excited to be Tempo Storm's bridge into Smash!”

“Super Smash Bros Melee has one of the longest standing and most passionate communities in competitive gaming," Andrey “Reynad” Yanyuk, Tempo Storm's CEO, wrote in the announcement. "The skill ceiling of the game and hype behind its events has blown me away time and time again. We couldn't be happier to expand into the title with two excellent and deserving players.”

Westballz is considered one of the two strongest Falco players in the world, along with Kevin "PPMD" Nanney. His flashy playstyle and ability to play a high-speed, pressure game leads many people to also consider him the most technical Falco in the game.

Axe, meanwhile, is renowned for playing the first high-tier Pikachu in Melee. The Arizona player made waves at Apex 2010, where he came in fifth place despite it being his third ever major tournament appearance.

Axe also plays Falco, Marth and Fox at a competitive level, but his Pikachu is his signature character. Axe is credited for Pikachu's climb up the character tiers over the last few years, raising him up from 16th place in 2008 to a solid 10th in the most recent tier list.

Westballz and Axe's first major as members of Tempo Storm will be EVO 2015 from July 17-19.
