Team Liquid have returned to Dota 2 with the acquisition of the European team 5Jungz.

Liquid have been without a Dota 2 roster since August 2014, after a 9-10th place finish at The International 4. The roster at the time was mostly made up of North American players, and the organization has traditionally contracted American players. Many well known players of the American scene have been a part of Team Liquid such as DeMoN, Bulba ixmike88. Aside from qojqva, this will be Liquid's first venture into the world of European Dota 2.

5Jungz have been doing very well in the various qualifiers taking place after The International 5. They qualified for the Nanyang Dota 2 Championship and are the highest ranked team in their group in The Defense 5. In fact, their only match loss in the past month was to (monkey) Business in the first round of the MLG World Finals European qualifier.

The new Team Liquid roster is as follows:

  • Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen
  • Adrian "FATA-" Trinks
  • Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Borislavov
  • Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka
  • Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi

Team Liquid also announced the addition of Alexander Reinhardt as team coach and Mohamed Morad who will take on a "managerial role to give the team logistical support".

The team's first game under the new banner will be Oct. 9 at 11:00 EDT against Virtus.pro in The Summit 4 European qualifier.
