William "Leffen" Hjelte will be unable to compete at Smash Summit due to his ongoing visa issues, Bryan "kpoptosis" Herren announced Friday.

Leffen will be replaced at the invitational tournament by DaJuan "Shroomed" McDaniel, one of the players eliminated in the later stages of the voting process for Smash Summit.

In September, Leffen was turned back at the US Border when he flew in to compete at The Big House 5. He had played at HTC Throwdown a few weeks prior.

Leffen is coming off of multiple first place finishes this year, with wins at HTC Throwdown, Super Smash Con and CEO 2015. Shroomed, on the other hand, will likely be considered to be less of a threat at the tournament. While a strong player in his own right, Shroomed has yet to finish in Top 4 at a major tournament this year.

Smash Summit will run from Nov. 5-8 in Los Angeles, California.
