NRG eSports have signed the former Luminosity Gaming roster as their first-ever competitive Overwatch team.
The roster, which was called MixUp before signing with LG, can boast of a period of relative dominance early in the competitive scene, but that was broken up by Team EnVyUs' decision to compete in North America. Since that time, EnVyUs has gone on a tear, with LG often taking second place.
The roster departed LG earlier this week, and that organization said that with their contracts expiring, "both parties have decided to seek new opportunities." LG simultaneously announced the signing of 2sTroNK as their new team.
NRG also boasts superstars among their number: investor Shaquille O'Neal as been a vocal advocate of esports and a constant presence in the organization's marketing and social media presences.
NRG's roster is now as follows:
- Brandon "Seagull" Larned
- Tim "dummy" Olson
- Yomar "milo" Toledo
- Carl "enigma" Yangsheng
- Daniel "Gods" Graeser
- Mark "Pookz" Rendon
