Team Spain has upset Team Sweden in a close 2-1 victory that sees Spain secure the first seed of Group A at the Overwatch World Cup.

Sweden entered the tournament as heavy favorites, as most of their roster was composed entirely of top-tier competitive players. Spain, by contrast, has several competitive players on their roster, but were overshadowed by both Sweden and Team Canada heading into the tournament.

Sweden gained the lead in the series with a win on Dorado, but excellent performances from Jose Antonio "BromaS" Ramos and Alberto "neptuNo" González carried Spain to victory on Temple of Anubis and Lijiang Tower, the latter of which went to five rounds.

Though Spain may have secured the top seed in Group A, Sweden still advances to the playoffs, as both Canada and Team Brazil are unable to match Sweden's record. While the group stage is still being played out, the Overwatch World Cup playoffs will begin on Nov. 4.
