Adam "Armada" Lindgren has won the Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament at Syndicate 2016 after defeating Weston "Westballz" Dennis in the Grand Finals. Armada lost only two games throughout the entire tournament.

Armada easily made his way to the Winner's Finals, which he took over Westballz 3-1. Not to be outdone, Westballz defeated Mustafa "Ice" Akcakaya 3-0 in the Loser's Finals to secure a second shot at taking down Armada.

Westballz quickly took down Armada's Peach in the first game, though Armada returned the favor in the second, losing only one stock in the process. Game 3 went down to the wire — both players traded stocks, before Armada narrowly clinched a victory.

Game 4 saw Westballz take a three-to-one stock lead in under two minutes, though Armada would come back to win the round and the tournament after Westballz failed to capitalize on his lead.

This marks the third major tournament that Armada has won this year, after Smash Summit 2, B.E.A.S.T 6 and Genesis 3. Armada was the Melee runner-up at EVO 2016, losing to Juan "Hungrybox" Debiedma in the finals.
