Daigo Umehara has won Lockdown 2016 after defeating Ryan Hart 3-2 in the Grand Finals, and has qualified for the Capcom Pro Tour Europe Regional.

On the road to the Grand Finals, Daigo beat Younes "CCL" Lazaar's Chun-Li, who is considered to be the best Chun-Li player in Europe. This comes after Daigo struggled against Chun-Li players Ludovic "Ludovic" Mbock and Raynel "RayRay" Hidalgo at East Coast Throwdown last week.

This is Daigo's third tournament win this season, and his first win in Europe, following his wins at OzHadou Nationals 14 and eSports Festival Hong Kong in August. In addition to qualifying for the CPT Europe Regional, Daigo has already qualified for the CPT Asia Regional. He will next compete at CPT Japan Cup from Sept. 17-18.

The Top 8 for the tournament is as follows:

  • 1st - Daigo Umehara
  • 2nd - Ryan Hart
  • 3rd - Younes "CCL" Lazaar
  • 4th - Natan "Mister Crimson" Massol
  • 5th-6th - Alex_Sieg
  • 5th-6th - Digos
  • 7th-8th - Alvin
  • 7th-8th - Twinblade
