Umehara "Daigo" Daigo has defeated Arman "Phenom" Hanjani 3-1 to win the Capcom Pro Tour European Regional Finals and secure his place at the Capcom Cup finals in December.

Daigo and Phenom first faced each other in the Winner's Finals, where Phenom was sent to Loser's in a quick 3-0 match. He took down Takahashi "Bonchan" Masato in Loser's Finals for another chance to face Street Fighter's greatest legend.

Phenom took the first game of the match, but Daigo's play was clean and precise, finishing off his opponent in three straight wins.

Though it was already mathematically certain that Daigo would have a seat at Capcom Cup thanks to his seventh-place ranking on the global leaderboards, his win at the EU Regionals takes precedence. With Daigo no longer qualifying via the leaderboards, the global qualification cutoff has been pushed down one rank. Kenryo "Mago" Hayashi is next in line to qualify, currently sitting at 19th globally.

The Capcom Cup finals are set for Dec. 3 in Anaheim.
